I was at Subway, and I had picked out a table to eat at. I set my newspaper and a bag of chips on it to claim it before I got in line.
Before I walked to my table, the manager moved my stuff to a bench that was facing the wall. I looked at him, as if to say "What are you doing?" He confided to me, as if we were friends, that there was a handicapped person in the restaurant, and that he needed the table.
I acceded, but I was surprised because I have never heard of that policy. It turns out that this man was NOT handicapped, just OBESE! I was always under the impression that a handicap was a physical (or mental) disorder that you had no control over.
I felt like I ws treated shabbily. Am I wrong to be pissed? Any opinions?
